Miss Universe 1990 was held at Schubert Theatre, Los Angeles, USA on April 13, 1990. Mona Grudt of Norway was crowned as Miss Universe 1990. Seventy-one contestants competed in the 1990 Miss Universe Pageant. This was the year that was later considered the year that changed Miss Universe because of the high standrd of broadcasting it and the arena. Mona Grudt is still today considered one of the most beautiful Miss Universe winners of all times.

- 2nd runner-up: Lizeth Yamilé Mahecha Arévalo (Colombia)
- The delegates who made in the top six are: Rosario Rico Toro del Pilar (Bolivia), Urania Haltenhoff Nikiforos (Chile) and María de los Angeles del Rosario Santiago (Mexico).
- The following contestants made it as the top ten finalists: Jana Hronkova (Czechoslovakia), Suzanne Sabloak (India), Julide Ates (Turkey) and Andreína Katarina Goetz Blohm (Venezuela).
