Miss Universe 1989 was held at Fiesta Americana Condesa Hotel, Cancún, Mexico on May 23, 1989. Angela Visser of Netherlands was crowned as Miss Universe 1989. Seventy-six contestants competed in the 1989 Miss Universe Pageant.

- The following contestants made it as the top ten finalists: María Macarena Mina Garachena (Chile), Aasa Maria Lovdahl (Finland), Andrea Stelzer (Germany), Sandra Foster (Jamaica) and Eva Lisa Larsdotter Ljung (Venezuela).
