Miss Pakistan World

Miss Pakistan World is a beauty pageant for Pakistani girls from all over the world. Started in 2002 by Sonia Ahmed, Miss Pakistan World attracted contestants from the UK, USA and Canada.

Miss Pakistan World was created to bring forward the elegance, grace and bold attitudes of Pakistani girls out in the open. Miss Pakistan World's main mission is to bring Pakistan's beauty on the map of international pageants.[verification needed]

Delegates for the Miss Pakistan World pageant go through a training program where they are taught stage presence and performance, as well as techniques for participation in other beauty pageants. Miss Pakistan World has given birth to beauty queens like: Zehra Sheerazi, Batool Cheema, Naomi Zaman, Sehr Mahmood, Shaifa Chandani, Sonya Zia, Misbah Iqbal and Majleej Sarkari. International titles won by Miss Pakistan World include:[verification needed]

  • Naomi Zaman- Best Talent, Miss Tourism Queen International 2005, Miss Disco Girl of the Year, Miss Tourism Queen International 2005
  • Sehr Mahmood- Queen of Elegance 2006 (Queen of the World), Miss Pakistan World 2006, Miss Pakistan Earth 2006
  • Misbah Iqbal- Mrs. Pakistan World 2007
  • Sonya Zia - World Miss University Pakistan 2006
  • Shaifa Chandani - Miss Internet Pakistan 2006


There is criticism regarding these International Competitions allowing anyone to participate, claiming herself as Country's representative. This is especially true for countries with an open policy of not participating in such events.[verification needed]

In its original form as Miss Canada Pakistan, it created controversy within its native community with protests from Canadian-Pakistanis concerned about the portrayal of women inconsistent with Islamic values.[verification needed]

In 4 years, Miss Pakistan World had won 4 titles in the international pageant community and also sent their first Miss Pakistan Bikini in August 2006. This sparked debates on Pakistani girls going to international pageants. Mariyah Moten became the first Pakistani delegate to represent Paksitan on an international level in a bikini competition.
