Miss NY Chinese

Miss NY Chinese also known as Miss Chinese New York and formerly called as Miss Greater Chinatown NYC Beauty Pageant, is a beauty pageant that selects New York City's representive to the Miss Chinese International beauty pageant held in Hong Kong each year.

1992 was the first year where the Miss Greater Chinatown NYC Beauty Pageant was held. The winner then represented New York City the following year in Hong Kong. From then on to 2001, the pageant kept it's name. Starting in the 2002 edition, the pageant's name was changed to Miss New York Chinese Beauty Pageant, and a semifinals and finals were held. 2004 was the last year where a semifinals and finals were held. Starting in 2005 to currently, only the finals were helded.

- Between the ages of 17 and 25.
- Before 2004, the delegates had to reside in New York for at least a year. Starting from 2004, delegates can be from anywhere in the Eastern Coast of the US.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Has not given birth or is currently not pregnant.
- Never been married.
- Have a height of at least 5'2".

Note: The winners from 1992 to 2000 held the title Miss Greater Chinatown NYC and starting in 2002 did the winners earn the Miss NY Chinese title.

1993: Diane Wang--#11 representive and 1st runner up at Miss Chinese International 1994
1994: Linda Liu--#6 representive at Miss Chinese International 1995
1995: *Amy Chung--#11 representive and 2nd runner up at Miss Chinese International 1996
1996-1998: No pageant held
1999: **Michelle Ye--#14 representive and Miss Chinese International 1999
2000-2001: No pageant held
2002: Jessie Liu--#14 representive at Miss Chinese International 2003
2003: Lien Xian--#18 representive at Miss Chinese International 2004
2004: Fala Chen--#10 representive and 1st runner up at Miss Chinese International 2005
2005: Nicole Wang--#3 representive at Miss Chinese International 2006
2006: Sirena Wang--#9 representive, top 5 finalist, and Audience Favorite award winner at Miss Chinese International 2007
(*):1995 winner, Amy Chung competed at the 1996 international pageant. She took 2nd runner up but later was dethroned in 1999. She was found out to have lied about her records where she used fake credit cards.
(**):Michelle Ye was originally 2nd runner up at the 1998 pageant, but the winner and 1st runner up did not want to compete in Hong Kong. She took over the crown and title. She later on represented New York at Miss Chinese International 1999 where she won.

Many winners gone to acting in Asia. Most notable is Michelle Ye who was a TVB actress and now is currently working with ATV. Fala Chen is also a actress in TVB now, hosting a few shows in TVB8 and acting in a few series. Nicole Wang is currently in Mainland China for acting.
