Misha Dichter

Misha Dichter (born September 27, 1945) is a classical pianist who was born in Shanghai (his Polish parents fled there early in World War II). When Misha was two years old, his family emigrated to Los Angeles. He began studying piano at the age of five. While studying at Juilliard, he won the Silver medal at the 1966 Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, an accomplishment that launched his musical career. While at Juilliard, he met Cipa, whom he subsequently married. Together, they are an accomplished piano duo. Misha has recorded many difficult pieces, including Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsodies and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition. The Dichters live in New York City.
