Mis Primeros Éxitos is a compilation of Selena's greatest hits before joining EMI Latin. This album was produced by A.B. Quintanilla and the songs were re-recorded in Weslaco, Texas. The songs on this album show why Selena was already a star on the Tejano market, being the recipient of several Tejano Music Awards. Included on "Mis Primeros Éxitos" are songs like "Tú no sabes" by Ricky Vela, the first mariachi song recorded by Selena and an outstanding performance of "Costumbres", a Juan Gabriel classic. "Dame Un Beso" by A.B. Quintanilla III and Ricky Vela would also be a typical song that describes what Selena Y Los Dinos were at the time.
