Mirsad Türkcan

Mirsad Türkcan (born June 7, 1976 in Novi Pazar, Serbia, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) is a basketball player.
Born Mirsad Jahović to Bosniak parents in the former Yugoslavia, he changed his family name to Türkcan when he moved to play basketball in Turkey. At the same time, he also obtained Turkish citizenship and started playing international basketball for Turkey. At 2.06 m and 107 kg, Türkcan plays power forward. Still being a citizen of Serbia, he also goes as Mirsad Jahović.
Türkcan played in the season 2004-2005 for the Russian team Dynamo Moscow. In summer 2006, he signed a contract with the Turkish club Fenerbahçe Ülkerspor.
His sister Emina Jahović is a well-known pop-folk singer in Serbia and other parts of former Yugoslavia. Mirsad is known to have financially helped jump start her recording career.
On December 18, 2005, Mirsad married 18-year-old Dina Dzanković, his girlfriend of 5 months and 2005 Miss Serbia and Montenegro.[1]

Mirsad Türkcan joined Efes Pilsen Istanbul in December 1998, but only for Euroleague games. In January 1999, he was traded by the Houston Rockets to the Philadelphia 76ers. In April 1999, Turkcan was signed by the New York Knicks.
