Mirapuri was founded by Michel Montecrossa - Cyberartist, Musician and Futurist on August 15, 1978 on commission of Mirra Alfassa - The Mother who is the spiritual companion of Sri Aurobindo.

The conception of Mirapuri was worked out by Mirra Alfassa together with Michel Montecrossa in the years from 1969 till 1973. The aim of Mirapuri is to be a place in Europe in the size of a city where people from all over the world can live and work together, who want to practise the Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother and want to realize their Ideals of Peace, Love, Progress and Human-Unity.
