Talk:Minor characters in the Baroque Cycle

[edit] Otto van Hoek

Could Otto van Hoek's character have been based in part on Piet Pieterszoon Hein, who was a galley-slave for four years and captured a Spanish treasure fleet from Mexico loaded with gold and silver in 1628? Hashashin 17:31, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Moseh de la Cruz

If Otto van Hoek were based on Piet Hein, then it's possible that Moseh de la Cruz could have been inspired by Moses Cohen Henriques, who participated in Hein's raid on the Spanish treasure fleet in Cuba. Hashashin 17:31, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
