[edit] Removed part about Catholic Church and adoption.
I removed "However, most Roman Catholics are against same-sex couples being able to adopt which is considered a form of discrimination" since it really had no logical place in the document. Whoever added that should make a section on criticism, and then write it using sources. With that statement there, one might as well say "Catholics are hypocrites". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bjford (talk • contribs) 03:38, 16 March 2007 (UTC).
- Hey, I'd just like to remind you of WP:NOOB. Their effort was made in good faith, and actually even if it's out of place, they are correct: from [1]; "Cardinal Alfonso López Trujillo, Vatican head of the Pontifical Council for the Family, told Fides news service in May that allowing same sex couples to adopt children, “would destroy the child’s future, it would be an act of moral violence against the child.”" Also, Catholic adoption agencies have threatened to close in the UK, based on their unwillingness to allow gay couples to adopt: [2]. I agree that a section on criticism might be useful. Joie de Vivre 16:40, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

- I'm sorry if it seemed like I was attacking-- I wasn't. I was just correcting an error. I know very well it is true, but the location of the statement and the way it was worded was not appropriate. --Bjford 19:12, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
