"If a student is not a citizen or permanent resident in Singapore, he or she can only take Malay courses."

Really? I was almost ready to take German when I discovered the MOE FUBARed my high school application and sent me to RV instead of TCHS. Don't think I was a PR then. The ensuing red tape prevented me from getting a place in time. Then I remember some Chinese compatriots (not PR either, I think) taking Japanese in the MOELC. -- Миборовский U|T|C|M|E|Chugoku Banzai! 23:04, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Hmm, are you a citizen currently (out of curiosity?) I always wondered how someone with such an origin managed to acquire counterrevolutionary thought in the first place with such a firm foundation in youth (subconscious, you know) in the great trappings of the Gongchandang? :p Anyhow, I'm only quoting from the website, it might be possible because especially since a lot of expatriates are not PRs (although if they aren't planning to stay for more than a few years I don't see why they would bother to enroll them in the mainstream education system that would require a second language)....but I did say there were exceptions. What did you take? German, I assume?
(Why do you hate HCI, by the way? I never really got it.) Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (Be eudaimonic!) 01:46, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Er, I'm a PR of Singapore. Really quite useless, we get none of the privileges and has to fulfill every single duty that citizens have... and more. (And I don't particularly like conscription, so yeah.) Anyway, what's that about the CPC? You do know that the first "C" stands for "Capitalist", right? And I wouldn't describe myself as an counterrevolutionary. Reactionary's more like it. Back to topic, I didn't actually take anything (due to the above-mentioned red tape) which is why I'm going "REALLY?" at that bit of info. -- Миборовский U|T|C|M|E|Chugoku Banzai! 00:29, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
HCI? Because it SUCKS. OK I suppose you're expecting more than that: Because it ain't TCHS. -- Миборовский U|T|C|M|E|Chugoku Banzai! 00:29, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 1986

1986 is actually merely a rough guess of mine - it might be something like 1986, then something occurred in the 1990s...they showed us a documentary when I first came in (I arrived late because I couldn't find where they were meeting :D) which gave us a brief history of the MOELC....the "eight" regional language centres is a guess too, it might be five, or seven. :D I'll ring them up and confirm, although if Mib if you do remember, please aid me. Nah. I've been there, what, twice? -- Миборовский U|T|C|M|E|Chugoku Banzai! 00:29, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
You were only there twice? Pity. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (Be eudaimonic!) 01:42, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New Ghim Moh Campus

MOELC began operations at a 2nd campus at Ghim Moh (the former Ghim Moh Sec site I think?) oppo the temp Dunman Sec site this year (2007). Can anyone perhaps help to include it? (I don't think the info panel on the right can take 2 addresses...)Jinhua 08:03, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
