Talk:Mingyinyo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This entry should be deleted. I don't delete anything, even though I created this entry. I'll leave that to the editor.
The problem here is that Encyclopedia Britannica uses "Minkyinyo" whereas the foremost scholar on the subject professor Lieberman a University of Michigan uses "Mingyinyo". I've followed his lead in the papers I've published.
Perhaps there should be a redirect from "Mingyinyo" to a "Minkyinyo" entry. This is going to be an issue with the names of many historicalpersonages in Burma since spellings vary by author. For example, Aung-Thwin's "Dhammazedi" versus Charney's "Dhammacetti". When the Burmese language gets added to the unicode engine we can easily add the name in Burmese alphabet which should be how it is done anyway.
