Minyanville is an online media and publishing company, started in 2002, whose primary product is a web site featuring articles by Todd Harrison and a number of other Wall Street fund managers, researchers, and writers, with a paid subscription component called "Buzz & Banter". Its president since 2005 is Kevin Wassong. Minyanville's goal is to provide financial commentary and analysis in the an educational and entertaining form rather than directly actionable "buy/sell/hold" advice on individual stocks. This is in direct contrast with most other financial web sites, newsletters and commentators, whose main purpose is to provide specific stock trading recommendations. The overall editorial content, taking its tone from Mr. Harrison, has been decidedly bearish since the site's inception, claiming that the U.S. economy and its stock markets have never properly dealt with the collapse of the Internet Bubble. The emphasis of the site has therefore been on the preservation of capital, rather than on how to make trading gains.
