Minstrels' gallery

A minstrels' gallery (sometimes minstrel's gallery; plural minstrels' galleries) is a form of balcony, often inside the great hall of a castle or manor house, and used to allow musicians (originally minstrels) to perform, discretely hidden from the guests below.
