[edit] History
Minooka High School is in the process of supplementing its current building with a $52.4 million building to house freshmen and sophomores when it opens in 2008. At that same time, the current building will house juniors and seniors. When district enrollment approaches 3,000 students (estimated at 2014), Phase II of the new school will begin, resulting in a full, stand-alone high school for 2,000 students. The current building will also be retrofitted at that time to increase its capacity to house 2,000 students. Both buildings will then house a total of 4,000 District 111 students.
[edit] Academics
In 2005, Minooka had an average composite ACT score of 21.1, and graduated 95.9% of its senior class. The average class size is 21.2. Minooka has made Adequate Yearly Progress on the Prairie State Achievements Examination, a state test part of the No Child Left Behind Act.[1]
[edit] Athletics
Minooka competes in the Southwest Prairie Conference and Illinois High School Association. Its mascot is the Indians.
