Minnesota Vikings seasons
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a list of seasons completed by the Minnesota Vikings American Football Franchise of the National Football League (NFL). The list documents the season-by-season records of the Vikings' franchise from 1961 to present, including postseason records, and league awards for individual players or head coaches.
The Vikings won one NFL Championship in 1969 and were the last team crowned NFL Champions before the AFL-NFL Merger in 1970. The franchise has been conference champions four times, but have never won the Super Bowl. The Vikings have been divisional champions 16 times, third to the Chicago Bears (17) and Green Bay Packers (18). In their 46-year history, the Vikings have played 736 regular and post-season games and have appeared in the post-season 24 times.
- For complete team history, see History of the Minnesota Vikings
- The Finish, Wins, Losses, and Ties columns list regular season results and exclude any postseason play. Regular and postseason records are combined only at the bottom of the list.

[edit] Footnotes
- ^ The Vikings were defeated on a desperation touchdown pass thrown by Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach with less than a minute left. Staubach coined the phrase "Hail Mary pass", referring to his toss [1], and the game became known as The Hail Mary.
- ^ The 1982 NFL season was shortened from 16 regular seasons games to nine due to a players' strike. For playoff seedings, division standings were ignored and eight teams from each conference were seeded one through eight based on their regular season records.
- ^ The 1987 NFL season was shortened from 16 regular season games to 15 due to a players' strike.
- ^ Vikings placekicker Gary Anderson finished the 1998 NFL regular season without missing a field goal, but missed his first attempt in the 1998 NFC Championship Game.
