The Minnesota State Patrol is the statewide police force in the state of Minnesota. The State Patrol concentrates primarily on traffic enforcement and highway safety. They also are involved with accident reconstruction and commercial vehicle enforcement. The State Patrol also does the security for the Minnesota State Capitol grounds and the Governor. The State Patrol also has a K9 unit working against drug trafficking, as well as a Strategic Response Team (SRT), aka SWAT Unit.
