Minjjarna Shenkora

Minjjarna Shenkora is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. At the southern end of the Semien Shewa Zone, Minjjarna Shenkora is bordered on the east, south and west by the Oromia Region, on the northwest by Hagere Mariamna Kesem, and on the northeast by Berehet. Towns in Minjjarna Shenkora include Arerti, Balchi and Eranbuti.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 137,040, of whom 66,430 were males and 70,610 were females; 14,531 or 10.60% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 11.8%. With an estimated area of 1,521.72 square kilometers, Minjjarna Shenkora has an estimated population density of 90.1 people per square kilometer, which is less than the Zone average of 134.37.[1]
