Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Japan)

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (国土交通省 Kokudo Kōtsūshō?), abbreviated MLIT, is a ministry of the Japanese government. It is the largest Japanese ministry in terms of employees, and the second-largest organ of the Japanese government after the Ministry of Defense.

MLIT was established as part of the administrative reforms of January 6, 2001, which merged the Ministry of Transport (運輸省 Un'yushō?), Ministry of Construction (建設省 Kensetsushō?), and the National Land Agency (国土庁 Kokudochō?).
