Ministers of State of the 21st Dáil

On July 5, 1977 the 15th Government of Ireland was officially appointed by Dáil Éireann. The new Fianna Fáil government was led by An Taoiseach, Jack Lynch. On that day Lynch announced to the Dáil that the Government had appointed the following Parliamentary Secretaries.

[edit] Ministers of State (January 1, 1978–December 11, 1979)
Following the enactment of the "Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment)(No.2) Act, 1977," the post of Parliamentary Secretary was abolished and replaced by a new post of Minister of State. A maximum of 10 Ministers of State could be appointed.

David Andrews was appointed Minister of State at the Department of Justice in addition to his existing post.

[edit] Change of Taoiseach
On December 12, 1979 the 16th Government of Ireland was officially appointed by Dáil Éireann. The new Fianna Fáil government was led by the new Fianna Fáil leader and Taoiseach, Charles Haughey. On that day Haughey announced to Dáil Éireann that the Government had appointed the following Ministers of State.

The number of Ministers of State was increased from 10 to 15 following the enactment of the Ministers and Secretaries (No.2) Act, 1980.
