Mini-jupe

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This term, apparently borrowed from French, has been in common use in Iran since the 1960s-70s. Minijupe refers to a tight and very short women's skirt reaching above the knees or shorter. Prior to the 1979 Revolution, this type of skirt was rather popular among Iraninan women, particularly in major cities among the well-to-do. In the U.S., this would be the "mini skirt". Of course, since 1979 a very strict dress code has been enforced in Iran.
