Minervino Murge

Minervino Murge is a town and comune of Italy, in the province of Bari in western Puglia, , at 429 meters (1407 ft) above sea-level on the western flank of the Murgia Barese mountain chain, commanding a wide view to which it owes the occasional moniker in tourist literature of "the balcony of Puglia". The population of the comune was 10,085 according to the 2003 census. It is 16 km (10 mi) south of Canosa di Puglia and 17 km (11 mi) north of Spinazzola.
The town's economy is based mainly on agriculture and herding. The karstic geology of the area has conditioned its main crops: grapes, olives, wheat and almonds.
