[edit] Synopsis

At the end of the Season 1 cliffhanger, "Family Ties", Aeryn was in her Prowler, trying evade Peacekeepers and pick up John and D'Argo, who were hanging motionless in space, John in a spacesuit and D'Argo passed out, with no space suit. As this episode begins, Aeryn, John, and D'Argo have taken refuge on an abandoned mining asteroid, with D'Argo still unconscious and Aeryn having formed some kind of secret partnership with Crais, who is aboard the kidnapped baby Leviathan Talyn. John quickly realizes that Aeryn is lying to them, and she tells them she needed to partner with Crais in order to save John and D'Argo--by the time she was able to pick them up, oxygen was perilously low and Crais offered to share with her the location of the asteroid if she would agree to teach him how to better connect with the rebellious young Talyn. D'Argo wakes up, none the worse for wear, and they proceed to reconnect with Moya. Aeryn confronts Zhaan, who has had a nervous breakdown and retreated into her religious rituals and believes that she is hallucinating the ghosts of Aeryn, D'Argo, and John; Aeryn helps Zhaan take the first steps back to sanity. Aeryn then decides to travel with Talyn, because he needs her, and joins Crais aboard Talyn. John angrily and jealously confronts Aeryn for leaving him and Moya and teaming with Talyn's kidnapper. However, Talyn soon offers Crais "the hand of friendship"--a neural interface that will allow better communication between himself and Crais, and kicks Aeryn off the ship, and she rejoins Moya. To Moya's sorrow, Talyn goes his separate way, but promises to contact Moya periodically.

[edit] Production Notes

  • Originally, this was to be the second episode of the season following "Dream A Little Dream" (then called "Re: Union"), yet because that episode barely featured the star and two other main characters the producers were asked to move it further back in the schedule.
