[edit] Trivia

The character of Bester is named after science fiction writer Alfred Bester, whose novels The Demolished Man and The Stars My Destination provide some of the inspiration for aspects of telepathy in the Babylon 5 universe.

Bester uses the phrase "Be seeing you" as a farewell to Commander Sinclair near the end of the episode, along with a gesture where his thumb and forefinger formed a circle over one of his eyes, which he then tipped forward in a salute. This was the form of farewell used in The Prisoner television series.

Quantium-40 is revealed as a necessary substance for the manufacture of jump gates.
