Mina' Zayid

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mina Zayid (Arabic: ميناء زايد) (Port Zayid, sometimes written as 'Zayed'), is the commercial deep-water port that serves the city and Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Named after His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, the former President of the United Arab Emirates.

There are currently plans to move the port out of the city to reduce heavy goods vehicles in the city and to free-up valuable land in the city for residential and commercial development.

It is also one of the many reasons why the UAE developed so fast due to the fact that it had deep water so transportation of the oil ships was much easier there fore making the UAE bloom.
