[edit] Fair use for Minako Aino
This image is being linked here. Though the picture is subject to copyright, I, Masamage, feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- it is a low-resolution scan from a Sailor Moon art book;
- it does not limit the copyright owners' rights to sell the wider copyrighted work in any way;
- it provides an illustration of this character (Minako Aino) in the series, and is to be used solely for this purpose.
[edit] Licensing
This image is an illustration of a character or characters in a comic book, video game, or animated television program or film. The copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher/producer and/or artist(s) producing the work in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of character artwork:
- for commentary on the character or characters in question,
- on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Fair use for more information.
To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.File history
