i want to know how to explain to people about miming —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.111.20.85 (talk • contribs) 14:42, 15 July 2005 (UTC)

How is this different from pantomime? Perhaps this should be merged with the pantomime article? --Bookgrrl 01:59, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

While Mime & Pantomime have the same root, I do not see any problem in keeping them separate. I am trying to judge it from the point of view of what most people might expect when they use WP. See my comments on Talk:Pantomime (theatre) about how I would like to make these pages more logical. I understand the idea that some people don't want to use 'Pantomime' as 'Pantomime (theatre)' because it is too British orientated, but in my experience most Americans don't use or know the word Pantomime, whereas all English speakers seem to have a similar concept of mime. (Whether this agrees with the ideas of contributers here is a different matter!) Dyaimz 00:15, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blackface?

Where does this business in the trivia section of mimes being sworn enemies of blackface minstrals come from? In my years of being a mime artist, I have never heard this from either my mentors or from my peers. In fact, it's not even a pop-culture myth as with the clown/mime rivalry-- in part because the blackface minstral tradition has been largely dead for generations. IanThal

[edit] Vandalism

There has been some vandalism here. The entire section on Modern Mime is now missing.

I will search for it, if not, does anyone have a copy archived? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by IanThal (talkcontribs) 01:49, 1 October 2006.

[edit] Ennio Marchetto?

The addition of a paragraph about Ennio Marchetto looks like an excerpt from a press release. The performer may be significant enough to be included in a separate wikipedia article, however, in a general article about mime, the scope should be limited to the major figures who have significantly inluenced the entire field such as Étienne Decroux, Jacques Lecoq, Marcel Marceau, Henryk Tomaszewski (mime), Charles Chaplin et cetera.IanThal 00:04, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
