Hello and welcome to the Wikipedia! You might find useful having a look at Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset and, when you have some free time, Wikipedia:Manual of Style. I hope you enjoy your stay here and feel free to drop me a message in case you have any doubts. Divirta-se. --Sn0wflake 22:12, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
hi, sorry for interruption, could you please see to the NPOV of exclusion of Brazil from this article. It was there until a month ago, and some guys keep excluding South America and Brazil from what I believe is its just place (and I am not alone, since these previous edits were there long before, to include Brazil). thanks Perroot 22:05, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Not to worry - anyone can make a mistake like that. Your stub was a pretty good start, just a shame it was all included in the other article already. Qwghlm 14:14, Jun 2, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Mind Benders
Hello! I've noticed your past interest in Wikipedia:Mind Benders and wanted to share the following announcement with you! I've taken over the responsibilities of Mind Benders, and the page will now be regularly updated. Right now, the pre-round is open (it's more of a creative artistic competition), and round one will open soon (the questions are done, we just need to wait for the pre-round to begin/finish)! So why not check it out? I'll keep you updated! Thanks, Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 01:40, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
P.S. Feel free to pass this news on to other Wikipedians.

[edit] Origami Crane
Just wondering... the origami crane you learnt was the bird one, right? I wonder if it is possible to get one of those machinery cranes done in paper. ;) Oh, I just noted that you are on WP:IDRIVE South America too, that's very nice. It is a great topic and I hope will get to WP:FA. See you.-Poli (talk • contribs) 20:23, 2005 July 24 (UTC)

[edit] Image Copyright Problem RE: Image:Milena 5.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Milena 5.jpg. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law. We need you to specify two things on the image description page:
- The copyright holder, and
- The copyright status
The copyright holder is usually the creator. If the creator was paid to make this image, then their employer may be the copyright holder. If several people collaborated, then there may be more than one copyright holder. If you created this image, then you are the copyright holder.
Because of the large number of images on Wikipedia, we've sorted them using image copyright tags. Just find the right tag corresponding to the copyright status of this image, and paste it onto the image description page like this: {{TAGHERE}}.
There are 3 basic ways to licence an image on Wikipedia:
- An open content licence
- Public Domain
- Fair Use
- The copyright holder gets the best protection of his work by licencing their work under an open content license like the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence. If you have the express permission of the copyright holder to licence their work under the above licence, use the image copyright tag: {{cc-by-sa-2.5}}. The GNU Free Documentation License is another choice for licencing one's work. Again, if you have the express permission of the copyright holder, use the tag: {{GFDL}}.
- The copyright holder can also release his work into the public domain, see here for images released into the public domain.
-
- Images from certain sources are automatically release into the Public Domain. This is true for most governments like the federal United States government. (See here for images from the government of the USA and here for other governments) However not all governments release their work into the public domain, such as the UK government (See herefor images from the UK government). Non-free licence governments are listed here.
- Also, in some cases, an image is copyrighted but allowed on Wikipedia because of Fair Use. To see if this image qualifies and then how to tag it, see Wikipedia:Fair use.
For any other sources of for more information see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Please remember that if you don't tag your images, they will be deleted.
-
- P.S. If you have uploaded other images without including copyright tags, please go back and tag them. Also, please tag all images that you upload in the future.
If you have any questions, just leave a message on my talk page. Thanks again. --Shanel 18:37, September 11, 2005 (UTC)
- Well, I went to the South Park Studio website, and under the "copyrights" section it says you are allowed to use the images for personal use, provided you don't say you drew them. Plus, there's the fact you have to get the image from screenshot. I don't know what license covers that, so I've asked Bratsche. S/he's one of the regular participants in image tagging, and I'm just a newbie. If s/he answers me, I'll let you know. :)

Hello! Thank you for participating in Round Two of the Wikipedia:Mind Benders! The round will officially close on Friday, September 16, and round three (which is complete) will be open in the immediate days after that. A notice will be sent to you at least 48 hours before round three is set to open, to insure fairness. Round three offers 11 new exciting questions, this time written by Deryck C.. Please be sure to join in the fun! Also, congratulations to Riffsyphon1024 for winning our logo competition! Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 20:30, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

- All the round two participants were added to the list (it took me quite a while, but I entered everyone who participated into the list for the notification bot). As you can see above, the NotificationBot worked! This will definitely make my job easier; last time it took me quite a while to notify all 50+ people. Now, all I have to do is to change the message and the time the message will be sent. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 23:04, 15 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Please help on Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva
Hello! I recently noticed some edits by an IP 200.150.59.201 user on the English page for Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. I identified some of them has not having neutral point of view and reverted a couple of them. However, he used the argument, "Obviously you're not from Brazil." So, I was hoping to recruit a Brazilian editor to review his edits and revert anything that is untrue or extremely biased, with more expertise than I could. Let me know if I should find someone else. [edit] WP:MIND
Hello. Round four of Wikipedia Mind Benders will open on Thursday, December 1. This round will be drastically different from round three; part one will consist of a creative project, and part two will be developed from there. The full details will be released when the round opens. Time and speed should not be major factors in this round; thus, there is no exact opening time for the round as speed will not factor into the scoring. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:04, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
P.S. Please add Wikipedia:Mind Benders/to do to your watchlist to receive further announcements; the NotificationBot is currently down and all notifications will be placed on that page. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I think it's very nice of you that you'd like to contribute to this article, and I'm glad you still feel a connection with a part of your ancestry, since your father is Serbian. I would appreciate it if we could work together on the article, because I love Belgrade, it's one of the last cities in the world that still has a soul. Have you ever been to Belgrade? If you have, I think you know what I'm talking about. I'd love to hear from you, leave a message on my talk page, or add me to your msn if you'd like (bormalagurski@hotmail.com). Dear Milena, I just found your site and decide to write you. I'm seeking for a man who's name is Dusan Popovic. He was born in Zagreb 1950. I meat him in the 70-this. It was in Stuttgart, Germany. Perhaps you can help me to find him. Mein name is Blazenka Pejic. If you want you can answer in serbian or croatian.

- Dear Blazenka,

- I hope you'll come here again, because you haven't left any e-mail or website for contact. I live in Brazil, and my father was from Leskovac. So, I doubt my father and Dusan ever met.

I have created {{Fluid}} and the relevant categories. Can anyone come up with an image to use and can we start tagging articles.
