[edit] Copyright Violations?
I'm new here, but this looks like substantially the same information as on the MILSET home page. Do we have permission to use the material? I didn't want to flag this as a copyright violation right out, just wanted to check to see where we go with this... JByrd 11:50, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Permission obtained from the Copyright holder
- Hi JByrd,
- I am the one who put the text in the first place, and it was done in accordance with the writer (which is actually a bunch of people belonging to MILSET, over years) and with the http://www.milset.org/ webmaster. So the Copyright is not an issue here, no worry.
- But I went to the guidelines and the issue seems more that the paper should be rewrited in a more Encyclopedic way and look less as a self-promotion paper for the group.
- I will try to manage that and to draft something more "open" to submit to the Wikipedia community, but it might not be in the following days as I am currently finishing a mission abroad and should be in holidays for 10 days.
- If you think the paper in its current form is better to be deleted then go and tag it.
- BTW after I saw the first Deletion proposal on this copyright issue I included a notice telling about the permission obtained, but it has been removed with the deletion tag.
- As I am quite new to Wikipedia edition system, I am not going to put it back without learning better how things work here !
- Best,
