Millipore

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

  • Millipore Corporation (MIL), is a provider of biosciences technology and services. Its CFO is Kathleen Allen.
  • Millipore is the manufacturer of porous membrane filters (made of cellulose esters or other materials) which, in sheet form, resemble paper. Pores aligned roughly perpendicular to the surface of this material constitute approximately 80% of its volume. This cellulose ester is brittle when dry and friable when wet (Bassett, 1959).
  • Cellulose ester filters manufactured by Millipore were used widely in early experiments involving the regeneration of transected nerves in the peripheral nervous system, especially in rodent models of sciatic nerve transection.
