Millfield Science and Performing Arts College (known as Millfield High School up until 2005) is a mixed comprehensive school located in Thornton, Lancashire.

Millfield currently has around 800 pupils, aged from 11 to 16. The school performs rather low in league tables and Ofsted inspections compared to other secondary schools in the area. Its current head teacher is Mr S. Bullen. The school has had above-average results in Drama and Arts education programs, stimulating the specialisation of the school into a Science and Performing Arts College (of which there are only two in the United Kingdom).[1]

The school was awarded specialist college status in 2005.[2] Millfield consists of many different structures, these being;

The school also has a large field, two large tarmac playgrounds and sports hall for P.E sessions and for use by the school sport clubs. Millfield also has a parking area for teachers, bus turncircle and bike shed
