Mill of Haldane

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mill of Haldane, usually referred to as simply The Haldane, is an almost entirely council-owned housing scheme in Balloch, West Dunbartonshire. Built to house mainly unemployed and working-class people, like nearby areas such as Renton and Bonhill, it had well-known social deprivations, and was one of the many "slum estates" which are part of the area known as 'The Vale of Leven'. However recent improvements to the Haldane has transformed the look of the scheme and with further rebuilding taking place the Haldane will be almost unrecognisable from its former appearance.

It also has a children's playpark, in the middle of the scheme, and a school, Haldane Primary.
