Miljenko Mumlek (born November 21, 1972) is a Croatian football midfielder.
He was born in Varaždin and started his professional career at local club Varteks Varaždin in early 1992, becoming one of the club's best players by the late 1990s. In the 1998-99 season, he led the Varteks team to the quarterfinals of now defunct UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and appeared in all of the six matches they played in the competition, scoring three goals in two second-round matches against SC Heerenveen. Varteks won 5-4 on aggregate after extra time and went on to face RCD Mallorca in the quarterfinals, eventually losing 3-1 in the second-leg away match to be eliminated from the competition.
In the summer of 1999, Mumlek left Varteks for Dinamo Zagreb and went on to make four UEFA Champions League appearances in both home and away matches played by Dinamo against Manchester United and Olympique de Marseille in the autumn of the same year. The club was eventually eliminated from the competition after finishing last out of four teams in their group, one point behind the group third-placed Sturm Graz. Mumlek continued to play for Dinamo until December 1999, making only nine domestic league appearances for the club, and returned to Varteks with the beginning of the year 2000.
He continued to play for Varteks until the end of August 2003 and left the club for his first and yet only foreign engagement, signing with Standard Liège from Belgium. He spent two seasons in Belgium before returning to Croatia by signing with Slaven Belupo in July 2005.
Mumlek was also an occasional member of the Croatian national team, winning a total of eight international caps in friendly matches and scoring one goal. He made his debut in a friendly match against Slovakia on April 20, 1994 in Bratislava and won another two caps until 1997, scoring his only international goal against Israel on August 17, 1994 in Tel Aviv. After winning his third international cap at the Kirin Cup in 1997, he was uncapped in the Croatian national A-team for more than four years before making two appearances in both of the team's two friendly matches against Korea Republic in November 2001. He subsequently made another three appearances in international friendlies, one in 2002 and two in 2003. He also made one appearance for the Croatian national B-team in a friendly match against France on January 19, 1999.
As of July 2006, Mumlek is the seventh best all-time goalscorer of the Croatian First League with a total of 74 goals scored until the end of the 2005-06 season.
