From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Milivoj is the mascuine form of a name derived from the Serbian and Croatian language for "dear soldier!" (mili, dear; voj pronounced voy, soldier route). This variant is used in the western region of the former Serbo-Croat speaking territory, namely Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina, whilst in Serbia the name tends to be "Milivoje".
Milivoj Asner was a notorious figure during World War II who fought with the Ustasha and has been accused of killing Jews, Roma and Serbs.[citation needed]
