Military lift

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Military lift refers to any vehicle, plane or boat used by a nation's military to deploy and re-deploy military personnel or material. Typically, the military lift material not used is lent to civil authorities in peacetime, to help with disaster relief, fire fighting and more.

In some occurrences (almost only in military specification documents), "military lift" is used as a measure of how much weight a given piece of military lift material can haul. For an example, see the measures given in landing craft.
