Category talk:Military of Hong Kong
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Interesting category. I tot someone has been insisting that Hong Kong should be dealt with as thou it is a seperate country from the PRC except in areas like foreign relations and defence?--Huaiwei 23:37, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Hong Kong has not always been part of the PRC. It has its military history as a crown colony of the UK, as well as during the pre-colonial era. Are you trying to say this category should be merged with category:Military of the PRC? — Instantnood
- If you want to avoid being lambasted for double stqandards, then sadly, that is exactly what you have to do. Its not like I am asking for it actually.--[ [User:Huaiwei|Huaiwei]] 6 July 2005 11:28 (UTC)
- I am not sure if you are choosing to pretend to have misunderstood what I said. I said Hong Kong has autonomy over its own matters. Only diplomatic relations and national defence are the business of the Central People's Government in Beijing. I did not say no category should be created for topics related to defence of Hong Kong. — Instantnood July 6, 2005 11:49 (UTC)
- Actually I do wonder who is the one feigning ignorance here. You constantly demand that HK be treated as thou it is a country in affairs which are not related to foreign affairs or the military. I would be damned if you actually dare deny this. Whatever the case, I decided to be bold and when ahead demonstrating to you what can be done pertaining to your enquiry above. What do you have to say about this?--Huaiwei 6 July 2005 13:10 (UTC)
- That's your interpretation of my words. I've never expressed whether what I requested is exclusive. And afterall this category is not, at least until the time being, treated as a sovereign State or a country. — Instantnood July 6, 2005 13:34 (UTC)
- Suit yourself. What is important is not what you think you are being interpreted, but what others intepret your words as. I dont see why I should waste any more time with someone who obviously shows no sense of responsibilty or accountability. This category is listed seperately in Category:Militaries with other militaries of mostly soverign states. That tells us something. Meanwhile, my concern extends to Military of Macau as well.--Huaiwei 6 July 2005 14:03 (UTC)
- I guess you won't probably take up the responsibility, and be accountable to other readers, to prove I "show[s] no sense of responsilbity or accountability". Please be reminded about military of Greenland too. :-D — Instantnood July 6, 2005 14:59 (UTC)
