[edit] Shildon Locomotion Museum

Hello. Thanks for cleaning up Shildon Locomotion Museum. You've done a much better job than most new contributors. I may have been a bit harsh in listing it for deletion but in my experience people create these articles, someone lists them for cleanup, and then the author never bothers to take responsibility for what they've deposited in Wikipedia, therefore it's often better to nip them in the bud as it were. I hope this explains why I took the step of putting it on VfD. It resulted in the article being cleaned up anyway. Cheers and sorry for trying to condemn the article to extermination rather than giving it a chance to be sorted out. — Trilobite (Talk) 18:29, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Many thanks for your kind comments :) Now that I have a more thorough understanding of Wikipedia, I understand completely why this article was nominated for VfD. Mikesc86 01:52, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion vandalism

Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Ansell Review my progress! 01:11, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

  • It is supposed to be there. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Lamest_edit_wars#Speedy_deletion_criteria
    • This quote right after your addition says otherwise, "this is an example of an attack page, not of patent nonsense; please don't reword to make it silly" Ansell Review my progress! 01:15, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
      • What on Earth are you going on about? My edit is a much more realistic example of an attack than "John Citizen is a moron". Mikesc86 01:18, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
        • Quoting Lamest Edit Wars as a source can be seen as disrupting wikipedia. Your example is patent nonsense IMO, and hence not a good example of an attack. Ansell Review my progress! 01:22, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
          • If Lamest Edit Wars is disruptive, then I propose a VfD Mikesc86 01:26, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
            • I didn't say the page was disruptive. I said that using it to justify actions is disruptive. The page is there to document past happenings and why they should not happen again. Ansell Review my progress! 01:29, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
              • You're funny, I like you. But I hate the messy code your signature leaves behind. Mikesc86 01:33, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Inappropriate Speedy Deletion

Thank you for your comments. Perhaps it was a mistake, perhaps it was not, I don't know it was too long ago. However, you should note that administrators do not need "concensus" on an AfD page to speedily delete an article if they believe that it falls under one of the categories on WP:CSD. Once it has been speedily deleted, an administrator will then close any open AfD debate with "speedily deleted" regardless of the debate on the AfD page. enochlau (talk) 02:10, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
