Talk:Mike Einziger
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I removed the line "he is considered one of the best guitarists of his generation" because, honestly, that's not true. He's considered "one of the best" by who? Some Incubus fan? 'Best' in terms of what? technical skill? Not likely, have you heard the solo on "Are You In?" that's pretty rudimentary. And just because he has a lot of effects processors and stomp boxes doesn't make him good.
Can you source more than one publication that has praised his guitar work to the point where he'd be considered one of the best? Is he on any 'best of' guitarist lists (even that bullshit Rolling Stone magazine list? You know, the one that put Jack White over Eddie Van Halen?)
While there are no verifiable sources that can say that Mike is one of the best guitarists of his generation, he is an excellent player. "Are You In?" is probably one of the worst songs to judge his skill with. Try a song like "Pistola". However, I do agree with the fact that one should not judge him as one of the best without some sort of publication to back up the opinion.
- Agreed, but for his generation his is probably one of the best based apon his tabs. Baring in mind he is an entirely diff generation to many greats.
