Mike Wilson (born February 18, 1976, in Moberly, Missouri) is an American documentary filmmaker. He made the 2004 documentary Michael Moore Hates America. He is a Libertarian who voted for President George W. Bush in 2000. He got the idea to make his movie about Moore because he felt Bowling for Columbine had misleading facts and offensive, false, statements made by Michael Moore. Wilson states in an interview that he believed Moore had claimed a working mother was at fault for her child committing a crime hit him personally, which was not said or implied in the film. He said that his mother worked full time but was also a good mother who was always there for him.
Wilson made an appearance on a segment of The Daily Show with Samantha Bee. In it, Bee followed Wilson around as he unsuccessfully tried to get an interview with Moore; while Bee points out how "hard" it is to find Moore, he immediately walks behind her. Bee ends the segment by "remembering" she has Moore's phone number, and phoning him; they end up going out for lunch.
Michael Wilson also has appeared at many Universities, speaking out against what he claims are lies that Michael Moore portrays to the public.
