Michael "Mike" Wieringo (born June 24, 1963 in Vicenza, Italy[1]) is an American comic book artist. He first came to prominence in the comic book industry for his work on DC Comics' The Flash with writer Mark Waid in the early 1990s. After his short run on the the Flash Wieringo briefly worked on another DC title, this time Robin with writer Chuck Dixon, before leaving DC for Marvel Comics.

At Marvel, Wieringo initially worked on short run projects (Avengers #400, a Rogue mini-series) before finally landing a regular stint on The Sensational Spider-Man with writer Todd DeZago.

After Spider-Man, Wieringos next major project was at Image Comics where he reteamed with Dezago on their creator-owned fantasy series Tellos. Tellos did not meet with sales success however, and Wieringo returned to DC Comics and a run on Adventures of Superman with writer Joe Casey.

In 2002 Wieringo returned to Marvel and reunited with writer Mark Waid on Fantastic Four. The two launched an acclaimed run on the title which was so popular that Marvel had to reverse its decision when it attempted to prematurely remove the creators from the series, and they finally completed their run on Fantastic Four in early 2005.

He has just finished working on a Spider-Man series called Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man with writer Peter David, though most upcoming comics in the series still bear his covers. He recently finished a two-issue fill in stint on issues 9 and 10 of MS. MARVEL. Wieringo also contributed 6 pages and the cover to the upcoming ULTIMATE CIVIL WAR SPIDER-HAM CRISIS #1. Next on his plate is a 4 issue SPIDER-MAN/FANTASTIC FOUR mini series scheduled to begin in April with writer and former studio mate Jeff Parker.
