Mike Whitlow (born January 13, 1968 in Northwich, England) is a professional footballer. He is currently player-coach at Notts County. He is 6'01" and weighs 11 stone. Although Whitlow remains registered as a player, he has not played a competitive first-team match since March 2005, concentrating on his coaching duties.
His best position is a centre back but can play anywhere along the back 4. He is a great communicater, and his experience is vital for County.
Mike began his illustrious career with a move from local club Witton Albion to Leeds United and made 62 league starts and scored 4 times. He then moved on to Leicester City where he started 141 times in the first team, scoring 8 times. After his time there he transferred to Bolton Wanderers for £500,000 and stared 124 times, netting twice. After the release there he joined Sheffield United but made only 13 starts and scored once. Finally he joined County and to date has made 22 starts. Mike is set to leave Notts in the summer 2007 for a youth coaching job with Sheffield United.
Mike is vastly experienced and has played in the Premiership with three teams.
