Michael Roy Renfro (born June 19, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas), is a former American professional football player who was selected by the Houston Oilers in the fourth round of the 1978 NFL Draft. A 6'0", 186 lbs wide receiver from Texas Christian, Renfro played in 10 NFL seasons for the Oilers and Dallas Cowboys from 1978-1987.
One of Renfro's best performances came on Thanksgiving Day 1986 against the Minnesota Vikings. Renfro caught 7 passes for 100 yards and 3 touchdowns from QB Danny White. Unfortunately the Cowboys lost 41-38 in overtime.
Renfro also appeared to have made a TD catch for the Houston Oilers to tie the 1980 AFC championship game against the Pittsburgh Steelers (in fact, the TV replays confirmed that he did make the catch), but the catch was ruled incomplete, and the Steelers would go on to win 27-13. [1] [2]
His son, Clint, is currently a freshman at TCU and is a member of both the football and track teams.
