Mike Rabelo

Michael Gregory (Mike) Rabelo (born January 17, 1980 in New Port Richey, FL) is an American catcher. Initially drafted in 1998 out of high school by the Boston Red Sox, but unable to reach a mutual deal, Rabelo entered college and played for the University of Tampa Spartans. The Detroit Tigers drafted Rabelo on June 5, 2001. He was a catcher with the Erie SeaWolves and Toledo Mud Hens before being called up to the Tigers 40 man roster in September, 2006. In Erie, he batted .277, with 6 home runs and 28 RBI's. In Toledo, he batted .270, with 3 homers and 2 RBI's. He is a graduate of Ridgewood High School in New Port Richey, FL.
