Mike Puwal

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mike Puwal, full name Michael J. Puwal III, is a guitarist and producer best known for his work with Psychopathic Records. Often referred to as Mike P. to distinguish him from the Insane Clown Posse's original producer Mike E. Clark, he made his production debut with the group on Forgotten Freshness Vol. 3 and went on to produce the group's sixth Joker's card.

Puwal was discovered by ICP when he was hired to build the group their own studio - the Lotus Pod. Previously their recording had taken place at Mike E. Clark's Funhouse studio. During the process of building the new studio it was revealed that Puwal was a noteworthy guitar player and producer. With their studio ties to Clark severed and a new producer available ICP moved away from their producer of eight years and teamed up with Puwal.

After joining the so called "Psychopathic Family" Puwal also joined with the label's rock group Zug Izland as their guitar player on their first two albums. Perhaps due in part to a lukewarm reception to Puwal's production skills it was revealed that ICP's next album, The Tempest, will once again be produced by Mike E. Clark.
