From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mike Pilavachi, formerly an accountant, is the co-founder and leader of the Soul Survivor charity based in Watford, United Kingdom. The event Soul Survivor itself takes place in the Bath and West Show Ground in the South West of England. Soul Survivor allows many young people to encounter God while being lead by leaders such as himself as well as other members or formal members of the church Soul Survivor Watford. He is a Greek Cypriot in his late 40's, and is famous for his fondness of loud shirts (particularly ponchos); his speeches filled with jokes; his passion for God; and his desire to see people converted to JesusChrist.
He is especially well known for fondly making fun of Tim Hughes, who used to lead worship at his church, Soul Survivor Watford, although he has known Mr Hughes since he was a child.
He helped found and run Soul in the City London in 2004 and now is in the midst of the project Soul in the City Durban in 2009.
As the author of a number of books, Mike has been a part of a "fashionable" explosion of Christian culture that mimics modern secular culture. However, his passion for Christ is imbued into his books, and consequently, the effect in lessened.
