Mike Parr

Mike Parr is an Australian performance and printmaking artist, born in Sydney in 1945. His works include the recent 100 Breaths (2005)and Wall Definition. He was born with a mutilated arm, and this has affected his artmaking practice throughout his career. His works often centre on self-mutilation, challenging the audience, and the concept of memory and identity. Many of his works are abstracted and he deals often in self-portraits. His work is often displayed today in Australian galleries.
