Mike Moloney

Mike Moloney is a DJ who had a radio show on RTE 2FM during the late 1990's called Moloney After Midnight. Although the show, due to its late time-slot, was aimed at an audience of 30-somethings figures actually showed that many teenagers in the 15-18 age bracket tuned in to the show .He worked in Radio Nova during the 1980's[1].

The radio show showcased a number of new bands, typically through pre-recorded live shows by these bands, e.g. [2]. Moloney After Midnight was also popular for the humorous slot Emilia Golightly played at approx. 12.10.

After leaving RTE 2FM he joined the newly licenced easy listining station Lite FM (now Q102) in Dublin where he presented the Drivetime slot daily. He was let go from Lite FM in 2004 causing a very public rift between himself and the station's C.E.O. Scott Williams.

From Lite FM he did a short stint at Dublin's Country 106.8 where he again held the Drivetime slot in the schedule. He moved on from Dublin's Country 106.8 for the launch of the north-west's new local station Ocean FM where he was Music Director and Drivetime presenter. Mike Moloney has recently left Ocean FM and retired from radio. He is now designing and running childcare facility's with his wife.
