Mike Matas

Mike Matas (born March 23, 1986) is the co-founder of the software company Delicious Monster along with Wil Shipley. He previously worked for The Omni Group, designing icons and user interfaces. Currently he works for Apple Inc.

[edit] Personal life and biography
As a teenager, Mike Matas lived in Seattle. He has two brothers, Sam Costigan and Jonathan Matas. Currently, his parents and younger brother (Sam) live in Seattle. His older brother Jonathan graduated from art college in Canada.
At the age of 14 Matas became involved with 911 Media Arts, a non-profit digital video resource company in Seattle, where he helped edit videos. Soon thereafter he started a small icons business, where he designed icons and logos for Mac OS X applications. From the age of 15, until the end of high school, he worked for The Omni Group, designing user interfaces. While there, he met Wil Shipley. Matas and Shipley founded Delicious Monster, a software company, in March 2004, after leaving The Omni Group. Delicious Library was their first product, which generated $250,000 worth of sales in its first month.
Matas currently works for Apple Inc., and lives in Palo Alto, California.
Matas never attended college.

Matas is known for listing instructions, on his blog, about how to make a Life Poster, big-size poster made of own photos, using iPhoto and Kodak Print Service.

- In February 2005 Matas and Wil Shipley appeared in news on KONG-TV, a local NBC station in Seattle. They were talking about their company, Delicious Monster, and its main product, Delicious Library.
- Matas and his friend, Christoper Mascoiocchi, designed a box of a frozen calzone for one of Seattle pizzerias called, Varlamos.
- For designing icons Matas usually uses Photoshop and Cinema 4D.
- Mike Matas is a big fan of the Arrested Development TV series.
- He is a vegetarian, as are his two brothers.
