Michael S. Jeffries (b. 1945) is the CEO of the Abercrombie & Fitch family of companies since 1992. His ethos is defined through masculine overtones, particularly those of Southern California surfers, "looking like a dude." He is a perfectionist and also has some endearing and "weird... odd" quirks. Examples include how he walks through revolving doors twice before he enters the Abercrombie Compound, never passes employees on stairwells, parks his Porsche every day at the same angle in the parking lot, and has a pair of "lucky shoes" he wears when reading financial reports. He wears pretty much just AF polo shirts, torn jeans, and flip flops to go along with his dyed hair, because he likes to exemplify a youthful attitude, however, some former coworkers have implied he just wishes he was still young as did Neil Dinerman when he stated that "he would like to be a guy with a young body in California."[1] He works tirelessly in the model Hollister, abercrombie, Abercrombie & Fitch, and RUEHL stores at the company's New Albany headquarters, a passion he developed making his parents party supply window displays as a child.
