Mike Galanos

Mike Galanos is a news anchor for CNN Headline News. Based in CNN's world headquarters in Atlanta, Galanos joined the network in May 2002. Graduated Summa Cum Laude from San Francisco State University. Galanos was the local sports anchor on KOLO TV in Reno Nevada for several years from 1991-1994, and was well known for his excellent knowledge of sports in Northern Nevada. Galanos, of Greek origin, started out as a cameraman, teleprompter operator and video journalist at CNN Headline News for anchors Don Harrison and Bobbie Battista back in the late 1980s. His first on air job was in Reno, Nevada. After leaving Reno he moved up the ranks to CNN Sports Illustrated as an anchor but now he is at CNN Headline News as a general assignment news anchor for the network. He formerly hosted Headline Prime, now Prime News with Erica Hill. He now (May 2006) hosts the mid morning block with Christi Paul.
